Hello. I know I've only ben a member for a short time. However I am a long time lurker. Just recently , last week or so, when I search by price it wont return results by price. The search results will be sorted in random order. Anything On my side I need to do?

I also have a suggestion that perhaps standardizing the way people are allowed to enter the currency would clean up the search results.

When I do a search by price the results will be listed and grouped depending on the way the seller entered it like the examples above. Perhaps standardizing the currency format :

1,000
10,000
100,000
would allow for a much more streamlined classified.?

Are you using the classifieds search screen or ?

Yes, it sorts by all the random digits, etc. so it's not super useful.

There is an issue with the different currencies as well and that is sort of unavoidable without having some sort of currency conversion in place, which would be difficult.

I noticed the classifieds search screen was not using the more elaborate sort by price logic I had set up for the individual category listings.

I copied the logic over so that the sort by price will be a little more useful now.

Note that sorting by price excludes all "non-price" prices like You Tell Me and similar wording. It sorts by the numbers entered only so prices like 15K will come out weird in the sort as well.

It would help if everyone followed instructions and used the same format but that is just wishful thinking.

Can you tighten the format rules for the price field? It seems like a text box now, and I know that currency is a pretty common field.

I'm open to ideas but we need the capability for text like OBO, Offer, and so on.

I'm not sure what some people use prices like 5000.00 - that is weird to me but I know there are a few sellers using random prices like $46.78 and $12.12.

Thanks Everett the search is now working properly.

Not sure how to go about a standardized price format, or website coding etc. But I'm certainly appreciative of all the hard work. Thanks!
