Do I need a speaker that is specially adapted to a 6 volt radio? I am travelling to take delivery of a 66 bus that has working radio that needs a speaker. I would like to listen to the radio as I drive my bus home. What do I need to get ? Where can I get it? I caznt imagine I need anyting other than a 4 or 5 inch speaker I could get at Radio Shack.
Thanks |

| A speaker is a speaker - how many volts driving the radio is irrelevant. The only thing you are remotely concerned about is the impedence (8 or 4 ohms are typical). Its best to match that to what the radio wants, but in this type of application, its not critical. In a serious audio system, it is much more important. |

| I use a Radio Shack speaker and it's pretty decent sound for that kind of system. I once tried a pricey duplicate of the original 6 volt speaker and found the sound quality to be far inferior to what you get with an ordinary Radio Shack speaker. |

| I found my new 4X10 speaker to replace the original 4X8 in my squareback. It was marked to fit a 64-66 Mustang in a Hot Rod Shop for $13. |
