| I going to have my 69 Beetle repainted and am going to replace the front hood. The old one has some bodywork in it. Anyway, my question is I came across a 1973 "beetle hood" and was wondering if it would fit. I have now way of measuring the 73 hood until I go look at it. Another question is that The original hood has vents on the top and another "OEM" hood I found for my year does not havde these vents, although it's supposed to fit my year. Did some 69's come with these vents and others not? |

| All USA models in 69 would have had the vents on the hood. Those vents are for the fresh air system... so the question is, do you still have your fresh air system in place, and do you use it? If yes, then you need the hood with the vents. If you want to delete that system, and want the cleaner look of no vents, then go for the ventless hoood. From 68-77 I think all bugs in the USA had them, except the stripped-down Model 110 in 1975. Outside the US, there were models that did not have it. |
