This was actually done last summer, but being busy with the body painting had not time to update you guys. Thanks for all your previous comments.
Here are some shots on the day we installed this. It took a year only to restore the front drive. See previous posts.

The whole device on bench prior to installation

Top view while the drive has been level on the jack.
I used a discontinued 3M 101 (poly sulfide) marine adhesive to seal the flange of the body and the drive.

While approaching the car, it felt out of the jack for a bit. This over 100kg unit hit my finger on the nail and i had a black nail for over 3 months. In photo is my best friend and mechanic from Romania who aligned the unit alone after the accident...

Installing bearings. The finger goes to me :)

Out of garage for the first time after 3 years of work.

Current update: Car is painted as of now. Will update with photos soon.
Still needs electrical and engine installation.

Good progress, I like the original leather type inner boots. The correct rubber gasket for between the differential housing and body is available from Hans S. in Germany, as are the caps for the trailing arms and most of the bolt locking tabs.

It had paper gasket between the body and differential. I got the bolt rubber washers from Hans. My rubber guy!

Seen in this image:

What is the purpose of so many hydraulic lines on the top there? It looks like brake lines and splitter blocks but I'm confused at where it looks like they go.

lube system!

Yep, it was an oiler system that the driver could push a bladder on the floorboard and instantly lube the front end. The Germans were afraid that in the water the front end would lose its lubricant quickly (not sure it would) and wanted a way for the drier to instantly re-lube the front end.

Fixed that for ya.

Ahh thanks, I swear I had seen a floor mounted bladder at some place (no, not the later washer pump), but you are right, I have seen the lever for the oiler. Never claimed to be a Kube' expert!

That's pretty cool. I'm lucky I don't have access to one because I'd waste so much grease.

Other cars of the period and into the 50s had such systems. In the Mercedes version is was a push plunger on the floor that pumped lube around and to many more points than just the front end.
