I just bought a new master cylinder and I would like to paint it so it doesn't rust. I would like to keep it the "cast iron" color if possible. Also, what is the best thing to use to prevent the steel brake lines form rusting? I don't want to paint everything black.
Thanks. |

| The brake lines I just got from WW were already painted - dont see why something like Rustoluem wouldn't work - same with the master - only pisser is that brake fluid eats paint like crazy. And of course you will need to bend your lines before you paint them. |

Just my 2 cents... I generally zinc plate my hard brake lines. It works for corrosion resistance and looks great. I would also recommend DOT 5 Silicone brake fluid. Silicone based and will not attack paint. Not to be confused with DOT 5.1.
Here is a good link to DOT 5 information
