Has anyone ever used the flanging tool that looks like a Vise Grip? Are they worth the money?

$20? I'll keep my eyes open for that. Does the Vise Grip type work?

I have the one from Harbor Freight. Flanges on one side, punches holes with the other. Nice.

I have the air one and it didn't seem to do what I wanted.

Perhaps I was asking to much. I wanted to put a flange around the holes I cut in the engine bay. Maybe the metal is just to thick there and it is only good for the thinner sheet metal.

It will punch a hole through the thicker metal just fine though....

:D

A buddy bought that same flanging tool from HF. I borrowed it and it would not flange 19 gauge sheet metal.

Look for the spec's when buying anything. Mine will flange 16 gauge no problem. Not Harbor Freight, but still an E-Bay cheapo.

really didn't want to, but a bus i did for a friend ended up dancing with it. here is what it looked like

actually, its the same bus that is in my 'click here' link. the bus really needed a nose, but that is a whole 'nother story
