Will a 30 gal 150psi 5.9scf @ 90 compressor handle a 9cfm @ 30psi devilbiss spray gun? Im looking to spray a base/clear on a VW beetle.. Do you think it will make it? Its a pretty powerfull compressor for the size.

Thats marginal. Not to say it won't work but it will struggle.

True it will, but it will work. Just have to stop to let the air build up to get an even amount a paint on each panel. Otherwise you are going to spray your paint heavyer on some panels and light on others.

You can do it.
I painted a 59 Ford School bus that was 35' long in a former life.
Used a Craftsman 25 gal oil less wheeled garage compressor.
DeVillbiss suction feed gun. 3-4 gals of cheap enamel paint.
The compressor ran...and ran...and ran. But it kept up with my steady pace.
It finally died last year. I thought it died. Autopsy revealed a worn piston diaphragm.
Replaced it with a new rebuild kit and am getting ready for my next paint job. A small bug. :D

Try doing a spary out panel and adjusting your air pres. to get a better color match?
All you have to do to get a litter shade (of what ever color is in your gun) is to turn down your air pres. In Fact in one of my I-Car classes, we took and spray out 8 diffrent shads useing the same color. Just by turning up or down the air going to the gun. Up makes it have more paint = darker. Less air = Lighter. Some other ajustments can be made, to get the same effect. Also somthing to think about is, how larg your spry out tip is and what kind gun you are using. Some are made for primers, some are better at paint, some are just crap and are good for nothing. So try doing a few spry out panels. This is a must for a perfect paint job, but also is a constent flow of air at the same flow. Or you will get lighter or darker patches.
