I have a couple of wide-5 Centerlines that require work. Been looking for sources to get this work performed, with not much luck. What places I've found on-line only one called me back.

They have dents in the rim lip probably from a pot hole.

Anyone out there know of a place I might contact to get them repaired?

As tempting as it is to repair an alloy wheel, please check with the local safety inspections board, DMV, a national tire chain etc. to see if the wheel would be allowed back on the street. Any heating or so-called "re-forging" will weaken the original construction in most cases. Show cars - OK, street cars - not so sure. Besides, would you really trust a refurbished rim at interstate speeds?

I've straightened small waves out of steel wheels with a lightweight hammer, and I don't think there's any integrity issues because of it, but I know that both steel and alloy wheels that have been patched with weld are not street legal - or at least, tire stores will not mount tires on patched wheels.

I know of a couple places local to me that we use here at work (I work at a tire store). Let me know if you're interested.

I used Precision Wheel Service in Branford Ct to fix a bent rim on my wife's NB. I went to get new tires and the shop said the rim was out of spec. Recomended to me by a guy who grew up there and is a car guy (Porsche). Got a seperate recomedation from a friend who knows people that ship Ferrarri wheels to them.
For 20 cash the rim was good to good to go.

If you still know how to use a book, get out that old thing called the yellow pages and look up wheel repair.

You probably have a shop close by that does this type of work.

If not, let us know and we can get you a few more recomendations if you need them.

I don't know anything about this company's reputation but they have a Chicago location.
