So I have checked on this site trying to figure out what year bus this is. It has been sitting at my buddies shop for years and I need to go through all the fun of getting a title for it if it's worth doing. I havent looked for any chassis numbers or a mtag because I didnt know there were more tags on other parts of the bus until today....after dark. Anyway, can anyone tell me what year this bus is by the following info, which is the one on the passenger side of the air box:
(I cant post a pic on here....)

typ: 23-42
VIN (I think) 237141153
kg 2070 kg 1150
kg 950

Does the third number of the VIN make this a 67? Or did I misunderstand a different post?

yes, for buses as of '65, when they started the 9 digit VIN, the 3rd digit is model year. I looks like you have a '67 SO-42 westy.

Sweet. I wonder what hoops I will have to jump through for the local cops to give me a certified VIN inspection for a clear title. I can get a salvage title for it as it sits, but would need to make it "roadworthy" to get clean title...which kind of sucks. I dont want to do anything to the bus until I hold title. But on the other hand I dont want a salvage title for a bus that hasnt been wrecked...

I need to go get the other numbers off the bus to see what original options it had. Its pretty empty inside and I think someone had put a RV heater of some type in it at some point too...Are these things worth much to the point that I would want to put it back to all original, or can I "Pimp my Ride" and make it so the bus can get out of its own way and also be able to stop??

Thanks for the info so far!

It appears Colorado has recently changed their abandoned vehicle at a repair shop rule...If you look up the following:
DR 2542 (12/19/11)
COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE
DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
TITLE SECTION
www.colorado.gov/revenue

It appears I dont need to make it roadworthy to get a title, unless it comes back with a salvage title in the past...unless I am that tired that I am not comprehending this correctly...Well this may not be so bad....last I looked at that form the vehicle had to be roadworthy or you could only get a salvage title....nice!
