| I have a 68 manx and I bought a billet rear view mirror but when I went to put it on it does not have enough adjustment to see over the back of the buggy. I was just wondering what everybody is using and if you have pics post them please. |

| I had the same issue. I ground down the part you glue to the windsheild to get the angle to an acceptable spot. |

| I had the same problem so I got a mirror from a 61 Bug and mounted it at the top of my windsheild frame. I have also done this on my other buggy's. It works great. Check out my forum . building my 70 manx. |

| I just happened to have a piece of 1" diameter aluminum bar stock and cut it at an angle and glued the mirror to it then it to the windshield. |

Ditto,
I assume you got this one: BILLET GLUE ON MIRROR - 5-1/2 X 2-3/8 INCH (140MM X 60MM)
I knew it would not fit as Berrien Buggy sais it on their site but went ahead anyways...
*This mirror has a maximum adjustment of 16 º. It does not have enough adjustment for our Nostalgia or Lancer bodies, but will work with the Roadster-T which has a more straight up style windshield.
My solution was to file the pin where it meets the casting and get it to tilt just enough. Now, I'm short (5'7") and sit pretty low so I may have gotten lucky. Never thought of filing the part you glue on, great idea. |

| Believe it or not all I use in my Dunebuggy is a cheap $4 suction cup mirror. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM3329381801P |

| Yes Vincent that is pretty much the same mirror I got, thank you all for the info. I think I will try and find a round piece of alum. to cut at a angle to mount it to. |

Windshield "frame mount" could also be used at "top" of frame to locate mirror...
Have the the rectangular mirrors and mount on each side of windshield...
Calif law says you have to have 2 mirrors, they do not specify state where they are to be located....
When I build my cage on red car I specifically had a "tab" welded to center of front hoop for center mount minor, but it just sits there with noting on it...

Grab a razor blade and on a hot day go to your local salvage yard and look for one you like, width, angle, etc. I used one from a Chrysler product.
I've always thought the rear view was as about as important as the front. [/img] |

I am using a surfboard mirror I found on Ebay.
Speedway Motors sells them too.

Ha Ha!
So simple.
But effective. Sometimes we over look/over think the simple approach. |

My solution:
1/8" aluminum bar, a stainless screw and a nut. Cut, file, drill, bend ... about 1/2 hour to fab. |

Good to know on the billet mirror or I would have been a little pissed when I put it on all fancy only to not have it usable.
One more thing on my list. |

| 30 seconds on a belt sander will put an angle on the mount before you glue it to the windsheild. Easy peasy. |

Stay off the glass and went to a roll bar mount for review and side mirrors.

This is what I use. Search vintage bicycle mirror.
Just bend the arm to come down though the windshield frame. Paint the reflectors.
