I bought a set of 914 2 liter replicas which were supposed to have the proper backspacing for the long axle '68 Ghia. They didn't. So now I'm stuck with four of them along with all the bolts, etc.
What I'm wondering is if part of the surface in the back can be ground away to increase the backspacing? |

The real answer to all of your problems is to get some OG real 914 alloys. ET on these are 40. I have also seen them listed as 42's. I have an IRS so double checking the difference between long axles and IRS. After market wheels with offsets in the 30's are tight for Ghias and type III's.
A side note. My chart that I have sez that a 4.5 wide wheel with 4.5'' back spacing is 32. Empis site sez 35. |
