I have turned my '57 on the side in order to do some rust repair under the heater channels, and thought I’d take a look at the running boards as well.
I wonder if my running boards are the correct size for my ’57 oval? I don’t have any car to compare with, so I really need some help :?
The running boards are after market bought a few years ago at a local swap meet, I don’t know the make. I’ve learned they are pretty much the same shape 1953-79, right?
I figure the gap is to wide though?!
Since the slot on the lower body is 40mm…
… while the running board is 20mm my impression is it’s either mounted too low leaving a gap on the top, or mounted too high and the screws almost missing the slots :( .
Am I wise trying to modify the screw slots on the running boards in order to mount them a bit higher up, or will the rubber fix it all when applied? Any input highly appreciated :) |

| By the time you get the mat on, and washers under the bolts, it will be just fine. The running board doesn't fit the entire slot of the body, and you can adjust it up or down a bit to help it fit just right. |
