I bought a used cruise stalk from eBay only to find it broken when I received it. :cry:

However I was able to fix it - I carefully removed the end where the cruise switch is, I slid the plastic part out and the switch came with it. It turns out there was a bad solder joint on the little switch PCB. After touching it up with an iron and putting it back together with a drop of superglue, it's been working great ever since.

What's a used switch worth? 3 of my parts vans have cruise.

This topic has come up more than once and it perplexes me. I would say a used stalk is worth probably $20 because the vanagon stalks are still available for new $78 and I'm pretty sure ones from other VW/Audis of the era will work also and are quite common. Details are in the archives.

They actually aren't available new anymore w/cruise control.

I think between $80 and $100 -- You wouldn't happen to have a black turn signal w/cruise control that you could rip out and mail to Portland, Oregon for me? I could take care of all shipping and handling and the logistics that come alongside getting me the part.
