The local PD cruisers run what looks like an ordinary steel wheel with a small center cap. Looks kind of cool.
I am reassembling my KG and will probably run some simple stock wheels while I save up for something more interesting. It occurred to me that adding a simple shiny center cap might get some of that police cruiser look.

| Hi Max. I've test-fit '72 Marathon wheel center caps on a few stock 4-bolt wheels, and they seem to fit nicely. Not cheap these days, but they are a nicely designed center cap, with VW logo, and they are a nice shiny silver (some stainless alloy I would guess). Easily dented also. |

You can also get chromed plastic lug bolt head covers that will make them stand out a bit on stock wheels (a nice combo with a shiny center cap too, like the previously mentioned Marathon wheel center cap). |
