Are VW wide 5 wheels the same pattern as the early Ford wide fives? Thinking a set of vintage wires would be neat on the thing...

Not saying i'm old but I remember the Ford wires were 5 1/2 pattern because to put 15 in. wheels on old Fords we used the later truck wheels. I think the wide pattern Ford wheels from mid 30's were 11 in.

Basically the answer is no, 5x205 is something like an 8in pattern. There are disc brake kits drilled for Ford pattern, or you could use adapters for light duty on road use. Otherwise, stick with the wide 5's.

You're right. VW is 7.76, Ford is 10.25. Guess Ill stick with my 15"bus wheels. At least they fit and don't rub.

Those Anglia wheels are cool, but I just found these at the swap meet on saturday. I looked in the classifieds, did not see any like these, what are they? Can I buy center caps for them somewhere?

Those are probably 5 x 130 x 15" Porsche wheels
