Thanks. I converted the buggy to electric over the '98-'99 winter. I've since swapped out the Optima batteries for a Lithium pack and installed a more powerful controller. Its very quiet, but sometimes not the tires with 160 ft-lb. of torque at 0 rpm. :twisted:

Those pictures where taken at an Electric Vehicle show at the Oregon Museum of Science and Technology. That substation across the street wasn't lost on me when I took the photos. Its like taking a picture of your car in a gas station. :lol:

Here's mine for when I get my buggy back together. I may have a few sets, to sell and the license hood, which will also be plated. I am switching all of the lights out for LED and halogen head lights.

I think these are from a Chevy Impala, I might switch back to stock stock ones though. :)

Cadillac lights in my Manx.
Keep in mind that when the lamp reflector is tilted, and not perpendicular to the road, they are very hard to see in bright sun.

School bus clearance lights rewired for dual filament bulbs. Lower lights are hi and low beam 100w each, uppers 200w each are when they won't dim their headlights.

Merc Sable wagon left on right on my Manx clone.

Headlights in hood are cut down Crown Vic headlights. There are 10 headlightsin 8 housings, signals are 1x2" marker lights that can just be seen below where the bumper ataches.

Stock VW in my M2K

front signals shine between the bumper tubes

Simple holes with light behind them.

I'd like a little more information about this option as these are available reproduction. How are these mounted? Does the thickness of the fiberglass body create mounting issues, since the lights originally mounted in a sheet metal body? I think these might look good on the back of a T-buggy. I was thinking reproduction '50 Pontiac tail light but would like something with a built in reflector (legal requirement.)

I have the Technostalgia "Ford Teardrop LED's in my 33 Ford

And I have the Technostalgia 1961 -1967 VW LED replacement units in my Manx.
Both sets have been working flawlessly for at least 5 years....Did I say they are BRIGHT? :shock:

Well since I wasn't able to get down here in Mexico the traditional 61-67 buggy taillights with the chromed housing that I wanted, I went first with the 1973 -2004 beetle model, which by the way are very common here.

Then I found on a VW parts store some kind of an euro style variation of the 1973-2004, and used them instead of the "normal" 73 style

They have a mate black background, a clear lens, the reverse light is located on top, the turn at the bottom and the running light and stops are at the middle. The bulb's reflectors are diamond shaped, so the ligths look intense from long distances.

Orange DB seem to all sport classic lights.

Not big on Chrome, so I went with powder coat and european lens.
