Stoked to be posting again. It's been a while since posting last because everything has been running "on all four cylinders". ha. Anywho, I'm posting due to rejuvenation. I just purchased a roof rack, via thesamba, and after research, seeking images, and just getting hooked all over, I realized how much I have been missing over the last year. This site has helped me so much on my journey since buying my 66 bus over 7 years ago and my 66 beetle about 3-4 years ago. Thanks to all; then and now. Best site ever. Stoked to receive my new rack. I HAVE NOT been neglecting my DUBS while neglecting thesamba, just not posting or viewing as much as I have over the years. Glad I'm back. Peace out mutha's!

And my rack.........has yet to come in the mail . But yes, I will post pics of my rack in the very near future. :)

(knock it off, guys, she's married, I'm married, and she bought the **ROOF** rack from me)
I still have the photos I took of it to sell it, but this antique Macintosh I use doesn't seem to like photobucket anymore.

@Dave..........awww...that was nice to stick up for me.......but I kinda ask for stuff like that. And with regards to pics of the rack.................I'll be okay. I printed some for myself when I was shopping AND the roof rack should arrive early next week to quell my excitement. Thanks though.

Hello Gina glad to see you posting again....Hopefully your cars have been sorted out by now....
Let me know if you would be willing to investigate vehicles in your area for sale that I may be interested in.
The roof rack, is it for the bug or bus?

I like looking at *most* racks, married or not. I, too, am married... but I'm not dead. I like ROOF racks too. Please feel free to posts the pics of ANY rack you may have. :D

I know it was all in good fun, I just wasn't sure how Mrs. Gina was gonna take it... and believe me, I am NO prude...grab you ancient, October, 1988 issue of Hot VWs, and tell me who won the
Mrs. VW Classic"..
I was a bit bummed, though...I spent DAYS detailing my Oval to within an inch of it's life, and didn't get shit, and all my wife had to do was go to the beach for a day or two, get a tan, wear a swimsuit she made herself, and she got a dozen roses, a hundred dollar bill, and a plaque that is in my office right now....it's posted somewhere on the Samba, but I don't recall where.
NO I won't post photos.
It's damn cold in the garage this time of year.

It's a weird one, gt1953... It's got a VW stamp on it, and it know for a fact it fits a Bug and a Squareback, it adjusts for height and width, and the mounting feet actually pivot... I had it on a Bug and Type 3 Squareback, and it had lotsa adjustment left, so fitting a Type 2 should be no problem. It's a "Universal" roof rack, I am guessing, from the 1970's, and it comes apart very easily, and when all apart, is quite compact. As I said, this antique Macintosh that I am too cheap to replace doesn't seem to like photodump or photobucket anymore, so I can't post photos.

@GT1953.................like Dave said above, it's an adjustable VW of America rack. Strangely enough, it is hard to find any info on it. I did notice that the dictionary section of thesamba has a picture of the rack on the beetle under the word, roof rack. That will give you an idea of what it looks like. As long as it fit's one vehicle, I'll be happy (the 67 Beetle). If I get lucky and it happens to fit my bus...............better yet. When I complete my VW "set" (one of each vehicle in my yard before I die), maybe it can fit onto antoher. It's all good is what I'm trying to say. As far as looking for vehicles in this area, they come up once in a while around town. What are you looking for?

Yep, under the dictionary section of this website, look in the "R" section, under "roof rack" and the photo of the grey Bug, is exactly the roof rack Gina is getting in the next day or two.
