Pushed outside ready for loading.... i've already built it in my head... On the Euro tunnel on the way home.... Crunchy front rail.... Beam dropped out so the welding can start.. New main rail section going in.. evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:56 am Starting to look better... Once the chassis was strong enough it was time to get the body off.. Cab floor removed, this was the start of drilling out riverts... LOTS!!! evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:04 am Doors and glass removed it was time for lift off... The 65 chassis, time to strip out and finish the welding.. Well after a mock up to see where it will hopefully sit... Lots of welding to the frame was needed ... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:14 am The rear cradle was all bent up so .... I cut it down and boxed it in... Steering box raise time... it does not get easier than this... Because the body is to be dropped the front pads were made longer so it could bolt back down... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:20 am N/S pad finished ready... The rear rails had to be notched by one inch.. as the body was coming down by three inches... and then plated for strength... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:25 am Almost there as far as welding goes... Fully welded 65 chassis... will still need notches etc... Time to get the chassis rolling... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:31 am With the body mounts cut down and the rear bed cut open for the rear wheels it was time to fit the body... Now were talking... Time to close in the sides... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:50 am GFK member James wasted time sorting out the graphics!!! Next step the rear wheel tub's.... Cut out to the size needed... Sides made... First wheel tub in place... Followed by the second... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:57 am New front bumper mounts made... Horn mount made... New T shirt.. New cab floor mounts made but in steel plate.... Rear wheel arch splash guards made and fitted into place.... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:07 am Cab floor mounts tacked into place... All stripped down ready for paint and powder coating... The chassis ready for the powder coaters... The body stripped and cleaned with the back window panelled in ready for the new window to be cut... Tinted clear coat... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:17 am The chassis dropped off at the powder coaters... While the chassis is away all of the other parts get some gloss black.. Colin starts the seat re-trim The door panels modded and cleaned.. ready for painting.. The body is getting wood.... and wooden bows to replace the ali ones it came with... evil ben Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:24 am The chassis is coated just in time and is built up quickly... DMF door check strap's.... One seat done and fitted!!! thanks Colin... Bumpers painted and on... new front badge laser cut and fitted...
