Not sure about the Corvallis Albany area for clubs, but there are several VW swap meets that happen through the summer. Craigslist has VW's & parts aplenty and still at reasonable prices. You could take your bug up to House Of Ghia in Salem for top shelf VW body work...they do bugs as well.

The only good thing to come out of Oregon is the road to California.

I like it when I ask people if they have been to "Northern California" and they say "yes" and I ask where and they say "San Francisco" or "Sacramento"...just the way I would like to keep it, too.... 8)

I almost bought a "no cal" sticker because I thought it was a crack at cali. Wife saved me by correcting me  . I lived in Vancouver WA for a while, one of my favorite places on earth. You will do fine. |

FWIW- Albany is about as central as Oregon gets. You are within a comfy day's drive anywhere in the state. I don't know of shops close to you- but between The Rose City Bug-in crowd to the north and the Medford scene being very strong in the south- you should do fine. Bend is a source of some neat VWs too- and I wouldn't be surprised if Eugene is good too. Welcome to one of the most beautiful states in the country.
