View original topic: Floorpan Battery Brackets

Hi everyone,

I had to remove my original battery clips from the floorpan while doing a little tidy up. One was wrecked anyway but the other one was good.

Annoyingly I've missed place my good one and now need to make a new pair to re-fit. I contacted John Henry at ZAR weeks, but they're not making them anymore. I've seen some of the others, but they don't look so good!

I'm more than happy to make them, but I need some very accurate measurements. I've looked in the search, but none. Does someone fancy taking some photos of their originals with a rule in the shots for measurement? Feel free to PM them or I'll give you my email address.

Many thanks
David

David, I did look, I do not have any repros or originals left to get dimensions from sorry. Would be a simple part to make, I am sure someone can get the dimensions and post here....

Thanks John, it's no problem. Did you sell your Bordeaux Red split?

Does no-one else have the originals to measure from?

Yes, I sold my Bordeaux split last May.

Are you talking about this little tab part the spring is hooked to? If so, I can get you a measurement

The base is 1 1/8" long by 1/2" wide and the part with the hole in it stands up 1/2" inch. The hole is maybe a 1/16" down from the top.

With the proper battery lid and springs, it is a VERY tight fit (as it should be).

If this is not precise enough, I can try to get another measurement with my caliper.

That's the one, brilliant!

I've done a quick metric conversion and rounded it, as they'd have done it in millimemters, so is it 28mm long, 12mm wide and the upright triangle is also 12mm high, with the hole 1.5mm/2mm from the top point? It also has a rounded top doesn't it?

Is it possible to measure the diameter of the hole that the spring goes through? I'm guessing about 2mm?

Many thanks
David
