Hello everyone!
I have 72 Squareback and she refuses to fire it up. I tuned up yesterday: Change oil, changed spark plugs, wires, corrected point, corrected valve space, and set timing. It was running just fine last night. However, she does not start today.... I checked the coil, and it has low voltage so I replaced it today...no luck! Defective wires? Fuel injection went bad? Please help what I can do next! Thanks! |

Start with the basics first
with the key on do you have 12v on the positive side of the coil?
If not check the fuses.
then go to the most likely culprit:
points- make sure when the motor is turning over they are opening and closing
condenser- Sounds like a shorted condenser to me. Those chinese ones are complete garbage. |

What he said. Here is a simple, yet effective troubleshooting technique that I found to be of great assistance.
1. Locate any electrical parts that say Made In China, or LUCAS on them.
2. Remove such parts
3. Grasp parts in overhand, fastball position. Knuckle ball fingering is optional
4. Propel in forward direction, preferably in the direction of the person that sold them to you. The verbal enunciation "BITCH" at the time of launch is fully appropriate |
