i have a freind with a 66 that has been bumped up front. i am looking for any pics of a fixture that bolts to the body and either pushes or pulls front end back out. i have the ability to fab it, but need assistance in the best way to go about it...i have seen pics on the forum of one or two different set ups (home-made) but cant seem to find them. i thought one (or both) bolted to the floor pan bolt holes (body off) and somewhere else, then to the bumper mounts with the push or pull sled (with a ram or hydraulic jack to power it).
any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated, as cutting the front end off is not really what is desired.
thanks guys |

| I will need to do this too. KCW made something like you describe; I just need to try to find it on their site. |

| i actually havent seen it yet. hes just been describing it to me. im going to go see it this weekend to see what we can do about it. yesterday he sai he pulled a fender and it was more that what he thinks he wants to mess with. i'm pretty sure we can do it regardless. i've seen some pretty bad front ends pulled out, or cut off and replaced. thats why i have turned to you guys, because vw guys are the saviors of lost causes! |

We're talikn' beetle right? Big tree and a come along. Be easy though, the bumper mounts don't take a lot of force before they start to pull away from the body, and I think I'd want the pan installed on the body - seems like you could pull it out of square really easy without it.
Look for a bent front beam or framehead on a hard front hit... |

Yes. A chain that might be attached to some old bumper brackets? With the other end around a tree.
The trick is to visualize exactly where you want the front clip to go, and then bounce the car in reverse. Youve got to go carefully.
Its a way you can get the front clip back in shape if you take your time and do it carefully. |
