On the upside you may be able to trade someone who has a nice 36 hp judson but only has a 40 h.p. engine. I think there may be a little price difference so maybe your judson plus a few hundred bucks will do the trick |

| surely you could modify the carb riser section on a spare 36hp manifold to match the relocated port on the 40hp judson. |

| If you cut the 40hp intake center portion and weld it onto the cut-down 36hp intake manifold so that the carb flange is further away from the fan housing by the same distance as it is on a 40hp manifold, it should bolt right up fine. |

| 36hp Judsons are generally not available, and they cost more on average. Intake manifolds are cheap and both styles are readily available. I don't think it's 'hack' to modify an intake manifold to run a Judson. A Judson setup is a modification from bone-stock, as are many other mods typically done for higher performance from a 36 or 40hp. It's also easily reversible, as it's a bolt-on mod, you just need another original manifold to put it back to stock. Early Judsons are rare and expensive, but later versions still seem to be generally available for reasonable pricing. |
