I served in the military... Some of the finest people I've ever worked with. Some of the most pitiful I have ever worked with. Kinda like this forum. :wink:
Fortunately, most of us followed technical written procedures to do our job. :D
Peoples lives were depending on it. Those procedures were tried, tested, and verified before ever being put to print. That is the standard...no deviations accepted.
I write this because a lot can be learned from these folks here on the Samba. Unfortunately, anyone can be an "expert" on an internet forum.
I wrote this post to expose these issues. I for one, will always listen to a contributor that backs up his statements with facts that I can verify. Mil Spec standards are extremely rigorous and rightly so.
Truth. I was sorry to see the NGK anti-seize topic locked. I can see Glenn's frustration with the end result but can't we see the bigger picture?
There is a lot of aircooled knowledge that needs to be disseminated before they are gone. Before you know it, you will be the one to carry the torch. I hope this site will help you. Until then, I welcome all knowledge that they bestow upon us.

I see Glenn's point, it was getting into a 2 man pissing match that was WAY of topic and I think they were going to start pulling out their peckers for comparisons and debating who's Dad could beat up who's. No need for such BS. If you want to do that, use the mesage board. I for one have nothing to prove to anyone. I was simply offering my REAL WORLD experience as I do with all the advise I offer. Take it or leave it, don't really matter to me.

And from me also, a heartfelt thanks to those who have served from all nations to preserve our freedom and security. I might not always agree with the politics that leads to these conlicts, but I respect and admire the people who put their lives on the line to do the job asked of them. God Bless

not all were tried & tested to be sure they worked before being put into print.my dad got 1 changed due to an error on it that almost cost him& the crew on the bird thier lives due to the pilot fallowing the list to the "T".my dads new best freind was the genral on the base witch would only fly with my dad. but yes for the most part your correct on all of it.and thus the reason we have the AN fittings & grades of hardware we have in racing, because regular shit just dont get it.now to fix the guys that just dont get it."brakes??"I wanna go fast not stop!!you just cant fix stupid.

you obviously haven't seen some of the SOPs they hand out now a days... :wink:
