View original topic: New buggy soft top and roll bar

This project is getting closer to being finished, the roll bar is not connected to the frame, it is made with 1.5" sch 80 aluminum pipe. This buggy is a road only vehicle that is used on a daily biases. After a few rain storms that is when I decided to build the cage, with the sole purpose of putting a top on it. I live in south Louisiana so finding someone that does custom boat tops was not a problem. The side curtains come off completely, the back window also is removable, and the top can be taken off but don't know if that will happen, would rather the shade.

Any questions or comments I'll answer as much as I can.

Looks like you put a lot of time into getting what you wanted. Not sure why you went so heavy on the tubing with it being only to support the top. I think it will be great in bad weather. Thanks for posting it.

That was size pipe that i had on hand it was first made out of 1" steel tubing and didnt like the look or feel of it then looked at a fold down like a convertible but didnt care for the way that it would have attached. It works great in a small shower, or a little rain but in a storm where most people pull off the road it was nasty in the cab and also shorted out the plug wires on the engine as well. My first decent trip with the top i learned alot.
