I'm a purist for the most part but I know good work when I see it....and thats good work. If you can do work like that, then you can damn well do with that car whatever you please. Keep it up and keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate the kudos.
I am not a fan of chopped roofs, I just never liked the look so it will stay stock.
Seating position in a stock bug is my biggest complaint. I feel that I am on top of the car instaed of in it, these lower my a$$ about 5" and make for a "sportscar" feel instead of a van. The install was actually a pretty straightforward task. a piece of 1/16" rectangular tube stock was cut to create mounting "saddles" a nut was welded to the backside and then welded and boxed in. two along the heater channel and two on the shiftrod/tranny center hump. this is the full back position, in the position I drive you cannot see the mounting tabs.

| Very nice. What a way to own it. Every project should reflect the owners style. Love your metal working skills. Can you provide some more details on the speaker boxes you made under the dash? The reverse lights in the rear apron are also killer. |

They're in the deck lid. He doesn't have a rear apron. |

The frame head brace is 1"square tube welded in but I am using a DBug41 8" extender.
there are alot of things I didnt photograph. I tell you a bit about the chassis. it has drop spindels and ghia disk brakes, beam extender, rotors and front wheels will go to chevy bolt pattern. Rear drums are chevy pattern and has 295 50 15 coopers on 15x10 centerlines. all bushings, bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, brakes parts. ect. are new I flipped the IRS arms and dropped the rear about 5" from stock. KYB shocks on all for corners. Motor is a very good running 1600 DP with a Weber Progressive on a Bugpack intake, one wire altenator, buggy exhaust bug pack short shifter. Nothing fancy just neat , clean and simple.
here are a few more shots after some blocking getting it ready for the spray booth, it will still get full coat of 2K then blocked once more. then ready for color and clear. I have been working on this for about a year on and off as days off and family matters allow.
