what is the correct routing for the red/black (running/parking lights)wire from left tail light to right tail light...does it run behind tarboard or does it exit engine compartment and cross above trans? thanks , Rich

This is how i ran mine...running/brake/turn is across the top. I ran alt/starter wires are lower. Correct? someone else will say quickly.

c21darrel, thats a clean engine compartment.
A few questions.
The wireing harness on the bottom right, does that route through the rocker to the front?
Is that a prefab wireing bundle?

oval grommet was og, i just cleaned and reused. Id try HOG or KGPR.
On the right, goes to starter, then from starter, 4ga. pos wire to batt under rear seat. I ran main loom in og location down drivers side, under door sills over rear tire hump into engine compartment. It is not og Volks wires, its a Watsons kit.

I got some gromments from napa auto,and some from home depot. home depot has a good selection of metric ones. Auto parts stores has some for pcv valves which work for bigger size holes.

I went to Lowes hardware to get some grommets...$1.10 each...Radio shack had like 30 to a pack for $1.99! FYI these were not large grommets like ovghiaguy is speaking of, just small ones.

to answer the original question. the wires for tail lights, brake lights and backup lights ( except power wire for backup lights) runs left to right under tarboard. I just replaced the tarboard on my 70
