Has anyone ever seen a vendor that sells VW related checks? I will be moving and will want to order some new checks (for those three or four checks I have to write a year :) ) and can't seem to find any.

I suppose it has something to do with the VW logo, but if anyone knows, please let me know.

You can make photo checks (just google photo checks - I know walmart has them) and upload whatever VW related photo you want. I plan on doing it using a photo of my oval when I need the next batch.

Thanks. I just couldn't figure out what to use when searching the web. Used everything else BUT photo checks.

Went out on Google just now and there are lots of sites.

I got mine though "check in the mail" www.citm.com - Go to design your own and I did the classic black and white photo checks. I used a couple pics of my cars and found one that worked well. They have some requirements as far as how dark, etc so that the check can be legible, but they are pretty flexible.

You do it all on the web and they showed up pretty fast. And its cheap.

bingo - why would anyone take a personal check? there is virtually NO recourse to collect on a bad check...

I was being (somewhat) facetious. There are plenty of reasons vendors on/off line don't take cards/eft, some rational/not.

There is recourse but it takes some work and varies state by state. Some states are very easy.

I've never had an issue accepting a personal check in the decade I've been conducting business on The Samba.

sounds neat. but i doubt id be willing to spend the money. only thing i write a check for is the rent and sometimes DMV at AAA

We have one medical provider in town that screws everything up. Common topic of discussion at the office. So I don't pay online. I write them a check. And if more than one of us attends, I send seperate checks in seperate envelopes. And I have a couple of other payments that I like having the cancelled check for proof of payment.

So that is my four or give checks I write a year.

Yes, they might be a bit spendy, but then maybe a view of my bug will ease the pain of sending off my hard earned money! :)

For payments on The Samba that they won't take PayPal but prefer a check, I usually go to the Post Office and get a Money Order. It is a chance I take that they will take my money and never send the product, but I have never had bad luck with any Samba vendor.

I'm a landlord. I'd be impressed if you paid your rent with a vw related check and might give you a break next month. Especially if you actually paid rent on time.

This is a "check in the mail" that I use - it didnt scan really well - the pic looks better on the checks. This is a pic of my 65.

i used to have NHRA checks up until about 6 yrs ago, went paperless then, i cant remember the last time i even wrote a personal check, in my business account i still use checks, slowly converting to paperless there too when i can, but so many older type biz's i deal with will only take a check, so unlike my personal stuff it will never go paperless

If you gonna make VW checks it would be more appropriate to put the VW in the "For" area.
