I currently have an 81 Caddy 1.6D, I'd like to throw a 81 Sirocco 5spd in. From what I can tell, the 1.6D with stock 4spd uses a 200mm clutch and the Sirocco uses a 190mm clutch.
first, will the bell housing mate?
second, do I need to use 190mm clutch or the 200mm?
any help, advice, experiance would be appreciated. |

| I would use clutch, flywheel, pressure plate from 5 speed.Check diameter of inner cv joints they could be different. Would be best to take everything apart and check compatibility before getting new parts because of variances in what cars are manufactured with. The trans will bolt to engine no problem. You will need to obtain 5 speed shift components. It can be difficult to adjust linkage if you haven't done it before.Get some old top trans to motor bolts, saw the heads off, then cut a slot for a straight blade screwdriver.Use these to install trans, then back them out with driver, makes job much easier. |

| Also, your mounts, and linkage are probably going to be different. It can definitely be done. |
