| Anyone know of a new, good aftermarket hood for a '70 bug? Anything out there that approaches the original German quality? I've heard the aftermrket ones don't line up correctly. Recommendations please. |

| sorry, but I have never seen a new metal hood that I would use. If I was you, I would be on the hunt for a used german one, shouldn't be too hard to find for that year. G/L |

Thanks for the reply... that's what I was afraid of.
I'm thinking that the hoods from 68 thru 72 would fit for my '70... is that right?
Also, do I need to use one that has the slightly raised area beneath the chrome VW logo just in front of the grill area? Does having that raised area define what the proper hood is or doesn't it matter? |

| I hope someone else will confirm, but I believe all 68 up standard, not super, bugs will fit. If you wanted it 100% correct, I would do a search, I'm not much help on the later years. |

| Any non-super beetle hood from 68-77 will fit your car. To get the proper lines and specs for a 70 will require a search. The beauty of a VW Bug! |
