If the person you're speaking with on the phone is a VW enthusiast?

My company's tech support centers are based out of San Diego and Quebec City. As many folks as I see posting on here from both of those locations, I can't help but to wonder if I'm on the phone with a fellow samba member.

I know I could of course ask the person, but it's sort of an odd question (that would require an explanation of sorts. A little awkward.)

It just makes me wonder.

I usually just wonder if they are in the United States or in a call center in India.

I think people working tech support and customer service lines would much rather do something else for their pay because they get so much abuse and wacko calls. That's why I try to be patient and polite when I call with a problem, even though I may be fuming. The person on the other end of the line is just doing their job.

never - I'm usually more focused on the business at hand...

I like to put the call-center people at ease by asking "What are you wearing, right now?"

I don't talk to people, they disgust me.

I can usually tell within one sentence.

Being an English speaking person, I just want them to speak and comprehend English. I don't want to keep saying "What was that?"

Don't care if they are VW people unless the call is about VWs

Same here, except I mean with regards to being a VW enthusiast or not.
