Nose is great! Some damage to the rear deck lid. Minor. Slight rust (surface) on the floorpan, now coated with rust stop. Standard rust holes around battery. Seems to have been a beloved car, and kept in the garage.
I love my car! <G> |

| Thank you! I've actually had it for a couple of years, but I found The Samba, while trying to figure out how to troubleshoot the right side of the car... lights, brake lights... Got them fixed. |

Excellent color. I've always loved orange Ghias.
The problem with new cars these days is the colors are damn boring. White, black, silver, grey, graphite, blah, blah. When are they going to bring back cool colors like red, orange, yellow, bright blue, bright green (remember the late 60's Plymouths?), purple, gold, candy apple red and green....etc, etc. |

| I agree 61bus, i think the colors of today are pretty boring and it kinda of reflects on the generation and style of today - boring. The new vws to me (minus the gti) are terrible looking. Every year i hope they wil go back to their roots of an affordable fun drivers car. After the 90s that died. Now they are trying to look like hondas/toyotas with those ugly lights and shapes. Go back to the boxy look, go back to the german look! Otherwise ill be driving a 90s or older for the rest of time. |

my post is out of context i know, but i can't stop my self from asking!
my car's rear tires looks exactly as all the photos you have all posted here in this topic, i mean they are not completely visible (they are covered inside the body of the car).
and i just LOVE them this way!
few days ago, i was at mechanic repair shop, the mechanic told me that it's dangerous this way and bad for the suspensions ,and that i should rise up the rear part of the car so that back tires look the same high as the front tires (in compare the the archs), and i DON"T like that !!
what do you advice me ? is that mechanic right ?! or it's normal for the ghia to be this way !? |

| On all the ghias I've owned, the rear fender arches "hooded" the tires. Tell that mechanic to take a hike. |

Mawaheb! So good to hear you are well! I was getting concerned.
I agree with Steve: The mechanic is wrong. Below is the Volkswagen factory dimensions showing the wheel arches. Even on a perfect Ghia, the fenders cover the top of the rear tires.

That mechanic is best avoided next time you need one.
