| I have had my 73 Ghia for a year, car sat for 4 years before I bought the car. I am doing my "spring clean up" getting ready for some spring summer driving. The air cleaner housing had oil in the bottom of it. Is this normal? Also, air cleaner was dripping oil...again is this correct? Carb was black, wiped off easily, is this related to the oil in the air cleaner? What maintenance should I be doing to the air filter? Thanks for the help. |

The air cleaner is an oil bath type and should have about an inch of oil in the bottom. However, it should never drip. If yours does leak, it will need to be replaced. If it is not leaking, then clean out the bottom and refill with clean oil.
