Does anyone know what the torques setting is for the IRS diagonal arms on a type 1?

Which bolt?
The spring plate bolts?
The pivot bolt?
The shock bolt?
The backing plate bolts?

Sorry, should have been specific, the pivot bolt.

There are some scans on the site:

I will try to scan and post a newer edition when I get some time.

If you don't have the manual or a search function such as google you just tighten them till they break then back them off a half a turn.

Make sure you peen(is that what it's called?) the metal around this bolt. Or use red Loctite on it. Or drill a hole in it with a pin of some sort. I put new bushings on it, greased and everything, and the bushings still would grab it and loosen it, pushing out the peens, no matter how tight I had it.

The second post on this thread has a list of torque values arranged by category. Depending on the job, it's sometimes handy to have a general list. Print it or copy it and keep it with your tools or manuals:

I just kick this shit out of the 17mm allen wrench until it ruptures a disc in my back

Vinnems, I like your Idea. Drill, tap, and put a set screw. I may do that.

I also have WOG 71-73. Email me if you want it.

Thanks Jase, but I can't take credit for that idea. Saw someone else to it on here. It's better than peening it, as the bolt head is so huge that there's plety of room to drill a hole and put something through it to keep it in place.

Please explain in further detail how that would work.
