firstly i need to get the charging system working, it has a 73 motor in it. the warning lights are not working .

The Bentley Manuals are usually the best for VW's. They have a complete test procedure for the charging system using a cheap VOM. We would all be Lost without our Manuals! I took my wiring diagrams to Kinkos and had them printed out & laminated blown up to 11" X 17".

You need to meet Whitey at German Automotive in Fletcher. Will save you a ton on shipping, and wasted time waiting on stuff from Cali.....

I second about Whitey. German Automotive, just off 26 in Fletcher. He will tell you if parts are crap. For service there is also Skip's VW in Hendersonville.
