Hello all , I would like to know what if any checks for transmission issues can be done without a motor attached . A friend recently purchased a 69 square back that has a blown motor , I have removed the motor and we are in the process of getting another donor motor from a bus . The shift pattern in the square back is real sloppy and the linkage at the inspection window has no rubber bushing . Is there any other checks I should do to see if the tranny is worth keeping . Any suggestions are appreciated .
