i just read lately that there is a washer or "shim" or 2 under the distributor drive?
Picture of it sitting In Palce?
or just a picture of it??

i have taken Many drives out to re align and Never saw one or delt with one.

Also..?.. reference says set drive at 60* to the case split
My 71 has a dizzy notch (& #1)at about 7 o'clock on the distributor(correct for this 60*?)

But this 67 (205G Vacuum advance) im repairing has it at 10-11 o'clock?? (whatever that degree would be)
Muir has pic that shows this as T3 dizzy notch

10-11 o'clock doesnt match with the 60* of the

Rule #1: Forget Muir.

The distributor he's showing is for Type 1 and 2, anyways.
Don't you have a Type 3 Bentley?

yes i do
and the distributor in the top left of that picture is a type III

im just wondering
there is NO picture of the washer"shim"

and the bentley is for 68 and above

i have looked back at pics of both my 67s engines and they also shows #1 at about 10 o'clock

The Bentley will show you the washer shim. Get a blue Bentley for the earlier models!
