I didn't take any new photos this time, but I did drive the bug over to the grocery store just now and before I left to go there, I took the two heaviest items out of the trunk. Then while at the store, measured the height in the somewhat level parking lot.
Since the fenders fit somewhat poorly, I instead measured the apron next to were it meets the fender beading. Both sides measured 8.5 inches from the ground at this point:

Stock '62. On a slight incline but should be pretty close. It's a 2 1/4' tape so the numbers look like:
Middle front body: 10.25"
Left front fender: 27.5"
Left rear fender: 26"
Middle rear body: 10.25"

| Thanks for the measurements Geek. Those fender top, through wheel center, to ground measurements are almost identical to my wife's '79. They didn't seem to change this much. |
