awesome!

I think this spot will change the show for the better, lots of grass, trees, easy access and even an old school play area for the kids.

Did you get the same area/size as the Billet shows?

Any Buildings?

..once again this is maybe 15 minutes from our house, pm' if you need a spot to sleep, wrench or bbq

This year's Bus Fest will be held in the Front Park area of the fairgrounds, which is just inside the main entrance and next to the museum. This is the shadiest lawn area of the facility and should be perfect for Bus Fest.

June's all VW event (Bug Bash) is on the larger carnival lawn area, next to the buildings with swappers on the midway and in front of the buildings facing the lawn. While there will be no buildings in use this year in June or August, the possibilities to expand BP-style are endless, as they routinely get over 1000 vehicles for their events.

There may be something indoors later in the year...stay tuned

I heard lots of conversations about the next Bus Fest yesterday (while hosting Bug Bash in Antioch.) I showed a handful of people the fairgrounds "front park area" which is the Bus Fest 8 venue, and they all thought it would be perfect, with lots of grass and shade trees. Due to the size and layout of the new venue, this event will be limited to Volkswagen buses and trucks only.

After reading the most recent post, I decided to drive by on my way home last night and check it out for myself. It should be a great spot for Bus Fest, with huge shade trees that should keep the entire area cool even on Antioch's hottest August day. Looking forward to the new location! :bus_red:

Dropped off my nephew at the charter school this morning and scoped out the location, I agree - fantastic home for future Bus Fests!

There is plenty of room for swapping, just not for huge truck and trailer sizes spaces...at least for the first Bus Fest at this venue, entry will be limited to Volkswagen buses and trucks only...

The way I read it, there is space for swapping - just not for non-VW trucks and trailers inside the event area. Just swap from your VW bus or truck. I'll be cleaning out the garage and selling alongside my crew cab. After all it is called Bus Fest right?

99% of the people who swap from their bus usually don't have trucks or trailers......Or a home.

 Nice stereotype dude.

I don't know where you've been swapping, but at the Bus Fests I've attended I've seen people swapping out of super-nice buses and trucks, and even a few barndoors. They did not appear to be bus-dwellers to me.

Is there going to be a cruise down from the Sacto area?

We're going to meet up again at the Clarksville Bridge and take Hwy 160.
No bridge jumping this time. Going to stay on the smoother, more travelled main highway.
Last time the lowered vehicles were getting tooo beat up on the county roads.

Sounds like a good reason to not lower your bus.

Well with the hot weather looks like I'm driving in an air conditioned Tahoe.
Wish the show was still in Vallejo lots of shade and a better central location for people driving from all areas. The roads suck and I didn't like the way you had to pull into the last show with all the bridges and dirt roads.

ryan63 Tue Aug 07, 2012 7:33 pm

The weather channel website says Vallejo will be 89 degrees on Sunday, 3 whole degrees cooler than Antioch. The part of the fairgrounds they are using has even more shade trees than Vallejo, and Antioch is famous for the breeze.

 Let's give the new spot a chance!

Arguing between Antioch and Vallejo is like f'n for Virginity.

It's going to be hot in the Bay Area in August no matter where you are.
