Well... I got another one. I had to buy it. Ive been looking for quite some time and found this one. Cant wait to fix it up a bit. Its pretty rusty but I think I can work with it. I want the keep the outside pretty much the same and redo the inside and slam it. Staying on stock wide 5s. The bus was originally white and was number 210 out of 210 made in 67. Im really happy to have the bus. I guess someone painted it blue and used it as a church truck judging by the open bible missions painted signs on the front doors. Here she is...

Doesn't get much more badass then that 8)

That is sweet, are you going to leave the lettering? I would

That is fantastic. Wish I could find one like that around here. I wouldn't do a damn thing about the rust (except maybe clean up the bed a little bit, make it usable). That's going to look incredible lowered. Don't touch the body work!

Edit. Just looked through the photos. Maybe repair the front floor, but other than that don't do anything :)

I love the old paint and surface rust. I'd stabilize that, get the mechanicals in order, and roll it. Cool find!

I sure wish I could talk you out of lowering the suspension, but I probably would not be successful. I just don't understand why people like to do that.

I'll second that. I can see the occasional lowered bus but its overdone imo. I'm sure it would look cool but it also looks cool with its normal stance, and be more functional too.

Oh and I ordered some new rims for it. The ones that were on it, three of them were bug rims and only one was a bus rim. I ordered a nice set of 4.5'' for the front and 5.5'' for the back. I also ordered some new interior seat covers and foam. Getting crazy and going with red seats! Also ordered some ABS door and kick panels. Just need that engine!

Got my rims in and I'm getting them painted black along with my bumpers. Im going to make them look super nice and smooth and have the rest of the bus ratty looking for now till i get some major money to spend on this. Also got my tires in. Discount tires helped me out with some prices i was ok with.

I took my old rims off and I'm having the worst time trying to get the drums off of the brake shoes to try and see what it looks like under there. they wouldn't budge. I was getting frustrated. Hit them around with a mallet and pulled and preyed and wouldn't come off. I did some searching but haven't tried again. Anyone have any suggestions. I already tried to spin the adjusters and they won't go. not one bit. The teeth kept braking off.

you could try hitting the edge of the shoes with a screwdriver and a hammer, to knock them free of the drums...

Daverham Thu May 17, 2012 8:25 am

If I was having this problem I'd shoot penetrating oil in there, all over the place, from the back. Let it soak. Then vibrate the hell out of the whole drum - all the way around - with an air hammer.

or you could use a drum puller....;)
