So I just snapped a clutch cable. No biggy-got a new one. When I took the old one out it the wing nut was all the way down :-k
Then I put the new one in and find that I had to put the wing nut all the way down to get some pedal on the clutch :-k
Is the bowden tube the wrong one - to short?
Or is the clutch crappin out? |

| Check your PMs, then check your Bowden tube sag like I said in the PM. I happened to remember that the PO had some yokels in her town do a clutch cable several years ago. Maybe they replaced the tube too and didn't know about shimming it for proper sag. |

The clutch cable for 68-71 is 15mm shorter than 72+
Germansupply had a good tip that due to wear, that using a 68-71 cable on a 72+ is sometimes required.
On my TDI powered bus (1978) I found that to be the case and the 68-71 cable was a nice solution. |

| Fixed. Two shims where the tranny bracket is. I could of used 3 and if the cable streatches then I will. But this gave me a good amount of threads to tighten down on. |
