A few weeks ago my friend Bill texted me that someone posted up on the aircooler.org forum that they needed an old VW Camper, specifically red or orange to do a photo shoot..I submitted a photo of mine and it was chosen for the job! Turned out to be for the Aug edition of the JC Penney catalog... The shoot happened this morning and I thought I'd share a few pics I was able to sneak in. Coolest part was my daughter was with me and she loved watching the shoot! Gonna be cool to see the pictures when they come out...

If you reread the thread Kirk and you'll see where the guy said the producer was wanting a Westfalia. Otherwise Mike's bus would have been a shoe in.

Oh I know. I didnt mean it as a dig to you, I meant it as a dig towards JcPenny. I'm just jealous. :P

Wouldnt have mattered anyway, if they had picked me, Doodle would have broke down on the way anyway. :roll:

Pretty cool. Hopefully its not another ad portraying the Bus as a hippie mobile. Cause not everyone that owns one is a hippie.Thankfully, less people view Buses as that, but every once in a while I will get a stranger coming up to me and saying "hey man wheres the drugs", "Cool bus, where are the flowers on the sides", etc.Grrrr.

I was just going to say "Where's the hippies and big flowers?", refreshing if it's portrayed as just some clean cut kids having fun.

As for Ms. Lovehandel she looks to me like you'd come down with a bad case of coyote syndrome real soon, stay away :P

Bad news...concerning the photo shoot JC Penney did with my bus a few months ago. It was to be on the cover of this month's (August) catalog but the new CEO of JC Penney decided to discontinue the catalog altogether starting this month :/ All the copies were destroyed but my boss at work dates one of the women at their corporate office in Plano and she said if she can't get me a copy of the catalog itself she should at least be able to get me a copy of the cover page...Should know more in a few days but nevertheless sucks...

I'm currently working at a local mall which has a JCPenny anchor store. Today I was walking through the store and saw a huge picture of a sage green late bay driving through the desert hung up in one of the clothing sections. Immediately thought of this thread thinking it was yours... but I guess not. Anyone else have a bus that's been photoed for JCPenny?

Do you know if they used any pictures from that shoot for their weekly ads? It was maybe June or july, the picture was just a shot of the passenger side window with the girls feet sticking out , crossed at the ankles and wearing some cute wedge sandals. I kept the ad for awhile but now I cant find it.
