I'm a type 1 guy and have always run the thermostat on my type 1. I have a stock '66 square, and it is lacking the thermostat and related equipment. Am I gonna want to run this stuff down or?? I plan on upgrading to a 1904cc soon.

having a thermostat connected to the flaps is always a good idea; it helps in warming up your engine and ensures the flaps are in tune with what is going on with the engine...

Anybody have a source or even a diagram of the parts I'll need to make this functional?

I believe that these (the actual thermostat) are no longer available so used or NOS is your only option. The parts should all be easy enough to find but some people ask a premium price for the themostat.

There are two different linkages for the thermostat #28 was different on my singleport than the dual port i disassembled last year.

Is the thermostat the same as a type 1? If so I'm set. I need all the linkage stuff....

Cool! Now that I've confirmed the thermostats are the same, now I need a source for the bellcrank and other components. The engine will be a dual port if that matters....

Also, be forewarned that the Bentley says the thermostats in the warm air mixers (air to cabin) are different than the cooling air thermostat located below the head as they are a different temp rating. It lists the warm air mixer thermostat as part # 311 255 257 but does not reveal what their operating temp is. A short search has provided me without a single hit for info...

Anyone? :?:

Anyone? :?:

140 for the mixers
65/70 for the flaps
