Hello friends. I teach my possible future karmann ghia. In 2 weeks I'm going to see the car. I am seeking information. I wonder what year it is. I have no more pictures for now. It is undergoing restoration.

The interior is upholstered. Is it a tapestry as the original? What is the reference paint color? Can L87 pearl white?

Based on the 65 and earlier dash, and the 64 1/2 and later interior door handles, it must be a 64 1/2 or 65 - unless somebody changed the doors!

The interior upholstery is not original.

That ignition switch is in an interesting location....

It is a 1965 model year.

Heater handels on the handbrake was first introduced on the 1965 model.

It has a KGOCGB sticker on the rear window.

I also think it's from August '64 to July '65, for the heater handels on the handbrake and the ashtray.

In addition to upholstery, do you see anything that is not original?

I hope that this will be my next karmann ghia!

wrong fuel gauge.

Don't see the Karmann side badge, or stamped area for it.

The big black knob on the dash is puzzling,windshield trim gone,and as was mentioned above,the ignition switch is screwy.My guess is it had the ignition switch on the shifter(locking)but it buggered up and this is the "improved"one.Steering column needs attention.
