Is it the Thule 542?

I had them on the top, but had tossed them due to broken down.. sadly I didnt take note of the brand, they were either thule or yak..

I see them on other vans, suprised I cannot find this in search.

When mounted, the "gutter" was at the top of the bracket.

Thanks!

Actually, these look just like what I pulled off the top before refinishing.

These will work too.

They would only create two penetrations to the top instead of four. But if you had four to begin with of course the ones you listed would be a better match.

was trying to go square, thule.. I think there are short, med and super tall versions. Trying to use the same ones Dobryan is using. Sent a PM.

Thule's website is either partially down, or does not show vw/westfalia/vanagon links. trying to get a rack in order.

you can make your own too without too much trouble depending on what tools you have laying around.

Here is a link to a thread that tells how to do it, http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=422988 That is the same link that is in my signature.

I like the home made design because you can get your rear load bar all the way back so any weigh on the roof is as far back as possible which minimizes its effect when it comes to popping your top.

oh, I'm going to toss on the retail product, mainly as they were already drilled, and for 15 per, I cant make em that cheap, and powdercoated.
