| I say it's definately worth 4k. I am building mine as of now, and have at least 4k in parts and the car isn't even put together 100%. It's a complete car man. I'd offer around 3,500 just to ensure a good deal. :) |

I would say that a rust-free solid body is worth four grand. That one looks very nice. I'd want to replace the upholstery with more stock feeling stuff, though.

A car is worth what someone will pay for it.
Dont let someone play your heart strings.
Looks like a decent car, by the pics. You're the only one thats seen it in person so you can make the call.
Id say 4k isnt out of the question, but Id also say It would be much better if you can buy it for less. Id start at 1500, and see if the owner swallows thier gum. Its part of the game. Its yours to buy and thiers to sell. If it has an emotional attachment.... (what VW doesnt) your gonna pay to get it.
For 4k Id go over it with a fine tooth comb. |

That's a sure way to get a good deal. Insult the owner with a ridiculous lowball amount. I'm all for negotiating but if I had a car advertised for $4K and someone offered me $1500 I would consider them a time waster and go on about my day without a second thought, or another word with that individual. |

| For a vehicle in your region looks pretty nice. Now go back and take a lot closer look at stuff. OG fenders bumpers etc. I hope that you do know where to look and what to look for. |

Got to start somewhere. Sometimes its a cat and mouse game. Be the cat or be the mouse. If buying something is is meant to be, then its meant to be no mater where the price starts or ends. Sure a $1500 offer is low but most likely it would end at 2500-3000. If you have cash in hand, and a trailer hooked up, the seller knows you mean business. Its all B.S. and learning how to read people. Ive not won every battle, but snaged some good deals that way. |

| If there aren't any hidden rust issues then it's worth it. My '62 appeared not to have any floor pan rust until I started stripping it down and chipping away the undercoating and my scrapper punched through. Ended up have rust-through on the front lower wheel well and left rear quarter. The rust was not apparent upon visual inspection. It wasn't noticeable under the undercoating until I poked a screwdriver through it. |
