| Why is it so hard to find someone to weld these pieces on for me?? ive been to a few differnt places and they wont do it.. Do they know something i dont??? I even had one guy tell me to just use JB weld... WTF??? sorry vent over |

That type of job is best done in a Body Shop. Originally they would have been spot-welded onto the body, but in the field they are usually MIG welded on.
However, most of the mainstream collision repair shops do not want to take in small piece work such as this. It may seem like a simple job to you, but it can involve a lot more extensive work on the entire rear half of the car if it has ever been hit or has rust in the area.
If you were having a shop do your entire body/paint project, then they would probably willing to install them as part of the whole package.
You might have to call around or find shops that advertise themselves as "auto restoration specialists".
Also pretty sure that Rio Hondo Jr College has a Body Shop class you could sign up for. In that facility you could learn how to install them yourself without having to buy any expensive welding or alignment equipment. |
