Hey. I am doing a practicum in a local high school and was asked to work in the mechanic shop. The teacher and I got talking about my VW and he pulled out a pair of Dellorto 40 carbs to show me that he has had sitting there for years. I have a set of these same carbs on my car but it would be nice to have a spare set. He said he would sell them to me but he didn't know for how much. I said they are probably worth a couple hundred bucks, and he agreed. What do you guys think they are worth.
It comes with both carbs, manifolds, but no air cleaners and no cross linkage. all jets are there too. no missing parts on the carbs.
Thanks |

| A lot depends on condition, but I could see for a good unmolested matched pair $200-300 |

If they are in good shape, and he will take 100$ per carb, then buy them.
You can't lose on that deal.
They sometimes sell for two or three times that, but you know, "buy low sell high" as they say, the actual value is somewhere in between |

| As long as they don't have the "dell drip", that's a pretty good deal. They run 400-500 on eBay. |
