how different is a syncro body from a gl.
im asking because the 87 sunroof syncro i bought has nominal rust behind the passenger area and where the top of the syncro gas tank goes..i want to cut out and replace the whole area from another rust free vanagon body. |

| The metal that is above the syncro gas tank is the same. The wall between the syncro tank and the passenger area is the same except for the gas tank support(where the straps attach). |

| I think above the gas inlet is the same but I am definetly not an expert. I will be replacing the body panels all around the gas inlet on my syncro. I think I am buying some panels from insyncro. He would know the answer. |

I think you need to clarify where you're talking about. "Top of the tank" is being interpreted as the fuel filler but I suspect that's not your meaning.

I have answered the OP questions via pmail with pricing.
His van has advanced rust in the areas he is talking about.
IMHO, the entire area needs replacing and close observation of the cross member should be done with the sheet metal removed.
I would beef the whole area up. |
