| I am going to get a set of chromies for my super, there is a choice of 4.5 and 5.5 inch widths. Will the 5.5 inch width fit on the front? The stock rims are really close to the struts now. |

Yes chromies for your super wil work in either 4.5 or 5.5 size.
For a 71 to mid 73 (three bolts holding strut at bottom)
the 5.5" size will look good with 185-65-15 tires.
The extra 1" will be on outside not the spring side.
For a mid 73 to 79 (two bolts holding bottom of strut)
The extra 1" will be on outside not the spring side.
But because the later strut design is wider the wheels & tires
will stick out beyond the front fenders looking stupid.
So for mid 73 to 79 use the 4.5" wheels all around or
4.5 in front & 5.5 in the rear. |
